What are you going to do?

As Principal Data Engineer, you support and advise our clients in the field of various Business Intelligence issues. You identify the specific need, make the solutions known and actively work on them. You work with various components of the Azure stack and techniques and are able to master them quickly if necessary. You have knowledge of both the front-end and the back-end and know how to transfer this knowledge to our customers and our professionals. As Principal Data Engineer, you contribute to sales processes with your substantive vision and you are the driving force behind internal and external knowledge sharing activities. You are closely involved in coaching your BI colleagues and act as a source of information to help professionals and our customers further on their way.

Who are we looking for?

Do you agree with us that the basis for a future-proof data platform is that your client is able to “manage” the data? There is a lot to say about managing data, but let’s start with data quality, data ownership and data lineage. We believe that you cannot deliver honest, usable reports if your data quality is not in order and it is not clear who is responsible for it. Are you able to develop a (Azure) data platform in a structured way based on this philosophy and build reports based on the customer’s needs?

A principal consultant distinguishes himself through demonstrable experience with;

• You are able to lead and coach a project team of colleagues during our projects.
• You are able to give direction to a project, build a project from scratch and determine what needs to be done and in what order.
• You are able to create a project plan and get both the client and the team on board during the project.
• You are able to speak to, advise and guide senior stakeholders during our projects.
• You are able to give shape and content to pragmatic solutions for clients based on the most recent (Azure) data platform techniques.
• You are able to work independently and together with sales to inspire (new) clients to work with us.

What are you taking with you?

• A completed HBO or academic education is nice, but we find at least 5 years of relevant work experience more important;
• Minimum 7 years of work experience
• Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written;
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience with one or more visualization tools.
• Experience as a Data Engineer, with knowledge of Microsoft Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks.
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience of MS SQL Server/T-SQL.
• Experience with CI/CD (Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery) is a plus.
• Experience with Azure DevOps is a plus.
• You have experience in guiding and independently organizing colleagues and organizing knowledge sharing activities;
